When Keira Drummond, an Edinburgh-based translator, receives an
invitation to a gallery opening in Heidelberg, she sees it as an
opportunity to revisit a city she worked in and loved some years
previously. The invitation, however, turns out to be a pretext for an
unexpected gathering, at which a plan is hatched to re-unite some family
jewels long-since dispersed, for an exhibition. The plan has been drawn
up by Jensen Amsel, a wealthy collector, and also present are Zaan de
Raad, an antique dealer, and Teun Zeger. The three men are distant
cousins. Keira, though connected to the family, is not related to them
by blood, and knows none of them. Fascinated by the prospects, she
becomes deeply involved in a quest that takes her to Minnesota, New
York, Vienna and back to Heidelberg. It soon becomes apparent, however,
that others are on the trail of the jewels and, sensing that she is
being followed, Keira does not know who she can and cannot trust. This
is a skilfully paced and plotted novel, in which the various story-lines
only come together at the very end.

Greywood
Hall is the setting for Nancy Jardine's romance novel, "Monogamy
Twist," and this is the place where secrets and history are discovered
and sorted out and love is found. From the very first time they see each
other, there is attraction and chemistry between Rhia and Luke.
Together they work on rebuilding and fixing up Greywood Hall and
researching the history of this mysterious woman who owned this place,
while at the same time living together and fulfilling a contract between
the two of them. However, it is not that easy as Luke and Rhia find
their feelings for each other growing and changing and wanting a real
relationship instead of just a mere contract.
This book is
well-written in a style that is easy to read and it will immediately
draw you in and immerse you into the characters' lives. The writing is
very descriptive and filled with imagery so that the reader will feel as
if he or she is a part of the characters' lives and has an up-close,
personal view of their world. The research that is done and the
discussions of the past will transport the reader back in time, allowing
the reader to unravel the mysteries along with the characters.
Therefore, there are many things going on at once. The attraction
between Luke and Rhia is strong and there are several "steamy" scenes
throughout the book. Overall, this book is a quick read with lovable
characters, a good mystery and a beautiful setting!

“Would you ditch the mystery, Jensen, and just enlighten me
as to what you think I have that interests you? And tell me why you couldn’t
have asked for it in the letter you sent to me? I came here of my own free will
– granted – but I’m not hanging around any longer if you’re going to drag this
out, for I’m damned sure I’ve no idea what you’re referring to.”
Jensen’s
reply lacked emotion, his face a blank screen, his gaze focused on Teun as
Keira regarded the by-play.
“Teun. It
may come as a surprise to you, but you actually know more about this invitation
than Keira. At least you knew from my letter I had something of family interest
you might be glad to take back to the USA with you. Keira had no such
suggestion made to her.”
Tension
rose in the room, which didn’t only radiate from Teun.
Keira sat
uneasy, also unwilling to be in the dark any longer. “Would you please explain
why you think I may have something you want, Herr Amsel?” She found herself
reluctant to use his first name, considering the antagonism now mounting.
“All in
good time, Keira. And please call me Jensen. I don’t set out to be anyone’s
enemy. I believe each of you can provide access to items belonging to the
collection. All the pieces are likely to vary in monetary value but, viewed as
a complete entity, it will make an impressive display. It’s a historic set… and
unique.”
